Product Description

Knapsack Granule Fertilizer Applicator
The Knapsack Granule Fertilizer Applicator is an ergonomically designed product that economically and accurately applies fertilizer, uniformly to any row crop. This allows for maximising the use of labour and optimising the fertilizer potential, thus ensuring improved crop quality and yield.

The product consists of a knapsack, designed to support a volume of fertilizer (25 kilograms). There are two variations to the knapsack; Either a moulded rigid plastic tank-type or a collapsible bag-type knapsack.

At the base of the knapsack is an outlet to which a length of flexible hose is attached, followed by a length of rigid hose and attached to this a calibration nozzle. The fertilizer gravitates from the knapsack through the hoses to the calibration nozzle, where the fertilizer dribbles out at a predetermined rate along the row.

The calibration nozzle regulates the flow of fertilizer from the knapsack by an aperture device. There are variations of aperture settings on the calibration nozzle to allow for different rates of fertilizer application.

The aperture setting is selected and the calibration nozzle lowered to as near vertical position as possible, directing the flow of fertilizer. Constant and uniformed walking pace must be maintained for accuracy of application. At the end of each row the hose and calibration nozzle are raised to stop the flow of fertilizer.

The Granule Fertilizer Applicator has a single or double row configuration. The double row applicator allows for application to two rows simultaneously.
